Youth to lead tour about yellow sand verbena plant at Goose Spit
The public is invited to join a youth led tour at Goose Spit to learn about the yellow sand verbena plant. On Aug. 16 at noon, the Youth and Ecological Restoration Phase II project will share the information they have learned from the project.
The yellow sand verbena plant is listed on the B.C. Species at Risk. Two youth will lead an hour long tour of the site and share their findings from data collected in 2020 and 2021 that has been shared with Comox Valley Regional District staff for future parks management. The 2024 project will be lead by biologist Carloine Heim.
People who wish to attend should meet by the washrooms at Goose Spit.
